Learning English in the "New Normal"

Our Summer 2020 session will open on 22 June.  We will be offering online courses only for Children and Teens during the weeks of 22-26 June and 29 June-3 July.  During these first two weeks, Tuesdays and Thursdays will be excursion days for both the Children and Teens with the online lessons being held at a venue in London.  From 6 July to 28 August, online students will be invited to join our on-the-ground students for 1-1.5 hours per day.  The online students will have the option to upgrade to the offline courses anytime during the summer.

Given the cautious reopening plans recently announced by the government, we will start in July with excursions within walking distance from our centre in South Kensington and go further afield as the situation allows.  We will also be limiting the class size to 8 each for the on-the-ground courses and the online courses to keep everyone safe while maintaining the high level of interactions among the students themselves and our teachers.

Our Autumn 2020 session for Children and Teens will start on 12 October.  Our short courses for Adults will run in September and December 2020.

Until we meet again, feel free to take a look at our Facebook page for Story Time, Arts & Crafts and London Museum Discovery suggestions and our Blog page and YouTube channel for examples of our students' work.

Learning English should be about communicating – to understand and be understood.  At Hi-London, we create an environment for this communication to take place for the kids, teens and adults who join us from around the world. Unlike the courses offered by other English schools in London, our English lessons are woven into what the students do each day. Whether it is at Hampton Court or the London Zoo, our students learn the English language in its historical and cultural context as they explore London. As Victorian housemaids, World War II spies or food critics reviewing a restaurant in Chinatown, they live and learn in the language of London!
